The increase in energy consumption requires improvements in refrigeration, and that is why it is indicated that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 with the reference design will start a configuration with triple fan. For now, the triple fan configuration would be exclusive to graphics cards that use the graphics chip. NvidiaAD102i.e. the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 and the latest Nvidia TITAN RTX and GeForce RTX 4090 Ti.
It should come as no surprise then that virtually all current custom GPU cooling solutions use a triple fan system to improve temperatures, but now the reference design will need to be revamped, and this indicates that the GPU range will be able to consume up to 600W of power. Without going any further, even AMD had to launch reference designs even with water cooling systems in its Radeon RX 6900 XT and RX 6950 XT.
(rumored) GeForce RTX 40 Series Family Specs
Rumor has it there’s still room for a new one. Nvidia TITAN with a consumption of up to 800W thanks to the use of the entire AD102-300 chip, which allows access to a configuration of 18432 CUDA cores. Same configuration that Nvidia should achieve GeForce RTX 4090Ti (vs 10752 CUDA Cora of the RTX 3090 Ti). One step below we have in sight GeForce RTX 4090 with 16128 CUDA cores (compared to 10496 cores of the RTX 3090).
The GeForce RTX 4080 would use the AD103 graphics chip with 10752 CUDA cores (compared to 8704 CUDA cores of its predecessor), the GeForce RTX 4070 would offer 7680 CUDA cores (vs 5888), the GeForce RTX 4060 would offer 4608 CUDA cores (vs 3584) and the GeForce RTX 4050whose release date is still unknown, would offer 3072 CUDA cores (vs 2560).
Availability of Nvidia GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs
The first to arrive would be Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, and is that the company’s high-end GPU would arrive beginning of October. According to industry sources, a month later the GeForce RTX 4080while in December the GeForce RTX 4070 and already at the beginning of January 2023, at CES 2023 in Las Vegas, the most popular model, the Nvidia, should arrive GeForce RTX 4060.
