Next week GPUs are coming AMD Radeon RX 6×50 XTsome “refreshed” models of current models that have seen extended information for their official launch, such as the AMD Radeon RX 6950XT will come to consume 335W of power35W more than the Radeon RX 6900 XT and 5W more than the Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Edition.
We already knew the reason for this increase in energy consumption, and it is the increase in frequencies, even if the improvement is minimal, speaking of a Base/Turbo frequency of 2100/2310MHz which implies an improvement of +85/+60 MHz, while the 16 GB of GDDR6 memory goes from working from 16 at 18 Gbit/s to increase your effective bandwidth up to 576 GB/s (compared to 512 GB/s). If we put the Infinity Cache in the equation, we are talking about a bandwidth of up to 1728.2 GB/s (against 1664 GB/s).
The AMD Radeon RX 6750XT sees its consumption increased by 20W, so we are talking about 250W for the same reason: to offer the same graphics chip but at a Base/Turbo frequency of 2495/2600MHz (+71/+19 MHz) with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory @ 18 Gbps (+2Gbps).
Finally, the AMD Radeon RX 6650XT goes from 160 to 180W consumption by seeing the silicon increase its Base/Turbo frequencies to 2410/2635MHz with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory @ 17.5 Gbps (against 16 Gbps). All of these GPUs will officially launch on May 10, when their reviews will also be posted.
