Sabrent announced the launch of a new memory kit DDR5@4800MHz boasting of its low latency. Of course, at no time does he detail these low latencies, knowing that they are limited to talking about “CL40″which was the JEDEC standardwe already know that it has nothing to do with products like the new memories of G.Skill, which has already announced memories DDR5 @ 5600 MHz with CL28 latenciesso we see a noticeable difference when it comes to memory that really delivers, low latencies to dramatically widen the performance gap to DDR4 memories.
Beyond the false advertising, these Sabrent DDR5 @ 4800 MHz arrive in kits of 8, 16 and 32 GB capacity, they do not include any cooling system and are basically identical to any other DDR5 @ 4800 MHz base kit you can find on the market. Launch prices have not been announced.
“Finally, new motherboards and architectures have allowed memory to grow with the advent of DDR5. Improved clock speeds promise up to twice the bandwidth compared to DDR4, all at a lower voltage to improve efficiency.”
To further aid the latter, DDR5 has built-in power management to reduce motherboard cost and complexity. Sabrent’s new DDR5 kits are just plug and play, install your choice of memory kits, go into BIOS and press AUTO, then reboot. For those who want to OC these kits, there is plenty of room to increase gears if desired.
