In addition to this spec reduction, the graphics chip achieves a slightly lower Base/Turbo frequency of 1.51/1.76GHz (vs 1.55/1.78 GHz), while at least in memory there is no change, having the same 8 GB of GDDR6 at 14 Gbps with a bandwidth of 224 GB/s. Regarding energy consumption, it maintains the 130W of the DIY variant based on the GA106 graphics chip (vs 115W GA107), so it is powered via an 8-pin PCI-Express connector.
The summary is that despite the same name, the user could get a graph that is really 5-10% slower compared to the model initially announced and launched. What is curious in all this is that the prices are not so different from one model to another, while the logic would be that the price is slightly lower since an inferior graphics card is offered at the technical level , as happened with the GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB and GTX 1060 3 GBwhere the variant with less memory was also less powerful by having a chip with fewer cores.
