We return to know more details about the 14th generation of Intel Core processors, better known as meteor lakewhere the main novelty compared to Alder and Raptor lakes lies in the use of the new manufacturing process Intel 4which offers a density very close to TSMC’s 3nm.
Most interesting of all is that compared to the current Intel 7 manufacturing process, the frequency of silicon can be increased up to 21.5% or reduce energy consumption 40 percent at equal power. It has already been indicated that with these improvements it would be possible to cross the 6.00 GHz barrier and, more importantly, outperform the CPU in power efficiency Apple M2something that is not very difficult either, since you have to remember that it is a simple Apple M1 with overclocking.
It is also stated that while Intel Meteor Lake processors have a release date set for around 2023it will be in the second half of this year that the company will start mass producing the chips, as it is stated that for now everything is going very well and without problems, so it seems that Intel’s problems with the launching new manufacturing processes is now a thing of the past.
Known Specifications of Intel Meteor Lake Processors
Remember that with processors Intel Meteor Lake should keep the same core configuration as that of the Intel Raptor Lake family, i.e. a configuration of up to 24 nuclei divided into 8 high performance cores as well as 16 Low Energy cores but with renewed architectures (Redwood Cove + Crestmont) to increase performance and efficiency.
It promises like this CPI improvement of up to 21%plus performance improvements related to increased frequencies and lower power consumption thanks to the company’s most advanced manufacturing process, the Intel 4. Added to this is a new integrated iGPU and dedicated hardware for AI acceleration.
