The family of processors AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX It is already available for purchase, although for now only in the Asian market, which has brought forward the embargo date imposed by the company. It has to be remembered that this is the company’s highest performing family of processors for the consumer market, and that is that we are dealing with the high performance platform for professional use, which means that they won’t be very affordable.
For starters, the top-of-the-range model, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WXreached a local price of CNY 47,000, which translates to €6,640 / $7,030. This processor offers a configuration of 64 AMD Zen3 cores as well as 128 processing threads at a base/turbo frequency of 2.70/4.50 GHz.
Just below we have the AMD Ryzen PRO 5975WX wire puller, which already offers half the number of cores (32/64 @ 3.50/4.50 GHz) and with it a price reduced by half: 24,000 RMB (3,390 euros / 3,590 dollars). Finally, the AMD Ryzen PRO 5965WX Thread Cutterwhich with 24 cores and 48 threads at 3.80/4.50 GHz has a price of CNY17,200 (2,430 euros / 2,570 dollars). They all share the same TDP of 280W and will remain on PCI-Express 4.0 interface with Octa-Channel DDR4 @ 3200 MHz memory configuration.
Only the most basic models like the Threadripper PRO remained to be listed. 5955WX 16 cores and 32 threads, and the Threadripper PRO 5945WX of 12 cores and 24 threads, so if they really come to market, they will do so much later, or we can already assume that their market will be cannibalized for AMD Ryzen 7000since they will offer up to 16 cores, but under the new Zen4 architecture.
Threadripper PRO 5000WX is already on sale in China.
The price is above 3000WX. These may not be official prices.
