AMD and Qualcomm Technologies today announced a collaboration to optimize the connectivity system Qualcomm Quick Connect for AMD Ryzen processor-based computing platforms, starting with the AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 series processors and the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 system. With the FastConnect 6900 system, the latest AMD Ryzen processor-based business notebooks feature Wi-Fi 6 and 6E connectivity, including advanced wireless features enabled with Windows 11.
In partnership with Microsoft, next-generation Windows 11 PCs can unlock the full potential of Windows 11 Wi-Fi Dual Station thanks to Qualcomm 4-Stream Dual Band Simultaneous technology. Multi-band Wi-Fi outperforms traditional single-band connections to enhance video conferencing experiences, reduce latency, and improve connection strength. Taking advantage of the 6 GHz band, users of the latest generation laptops can take full advantage of its improvements in bandwidth and speed.
“Remote out-of-band WiFi management is an important tool for enterprise IT administrators to diagnose and resolve issues, even when the operating system is down,” said Jason Banta, CVP and General Manager, OEM Client Computing, AMD.
“AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 Series processors with Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 enable the next generation of business laptops to have the processing and connectivity tools they need to perform in modern environments, delivering quality remote manageability professionalism for users in the new hybrid workplace.”
“Our collaboration with AMD reflects Qualcomm Technologies’ commitment to the mobile computing space. By optimizing FastConnect 6900 for platforms powered by AMD Ryzen 6000 processors, we are bringing secure WiFi remote management to AMD enterprise customers. “said Dino Bekis, Vice President. and General Manager of Mobile Compute and Connectivity at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
“This represents the first step in our relationship to bring superior wireless connectivity to AMD’s mobile computing roadmap.”
